Parent Involvement - how you can help

Screenshot 2021-12-11 154908.jpgBecause of the recognition of parents’ role in education and the high correlation between home and school values, appropriate involvement of parents and teachers in the policies and the management of the school will be sought and highly valued. Numerous opportunities throughout the year will be offered, both on a formal and informal level for parents and teachers to collaborate together.

We are always welcoming volunteers in our library, cybrary, tuckshop and uniform shop. Parents are also asked to become involved by attending the monthly P&F meetings, assisting with reading in the classroom and at our regular sporting events.

Due to a legislative requirement, it is now mandatory that all volunteers undergo Student Protection Training. Brisbane Catholic Education has developed a training package to help facilitate this process. Please see the BCE Policies tab for Volunteer training links.

As a volunteer, you are required to read the handbook and sign the appropriate pages. Once completed, please return the Volunteer Registration Form to the School Office.
All non-parent volunteers must also undergo employment screening under the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2005 and hold a current Positive Notice Blue Card for volunteers: https://www.bluecard.qld.gov.au/volunteers/index.html

Parent and Non-Parent Volunteer Sign In/Sign Out

Parents and non-parent volunteers are required to sign in on arrival and sign out on departure at the office when taking part in activities at the school during school hours. This is a requirement to meet our workplace health and safety standards.
